What are vehicle wraps and vehicle graphics.

Two popular options for vehicle branding.

van graphicsVehicle wraps and vehicle graphics roughly fall into the same category when it comes to mobile advertising. Most people looking for vehicle graphics (vehicle lettering, vehicle decals or a combination of both vinyl lettering and digital car decals) will search for a sign company utilizing the key words for a vehicle wrap. And while it may seem like the right terminology to use, considering that you want your vehicle wrapped for vehicle branding, there is a big difference between vehicle wraps and vehicle graphics when it comes to price, product and installation.

Many people will call requesting a vehicle wrap when in reality what they really need is to just have their vehicle or fleet vehicle outfitted with vehicle graphics. Here is a quick breakdown of the difference between vehicle wraps and vehicle graphics.

smart car wrapVEHICLE WRAPS:

Vehicle wraps completely encase the vehicle (car, truck, boat, van, etc.) with digitally printed vinyl graphics. This is carried out by printing whole panels of vehicle decals to be applied to the automobile in sections to create a seamless look. But since the panels will be covering all of the vehicle from head to toe, and more vinyl material is used in this process, the installation of vehicle wraps is a lot trickier and pricier than just investing in vehicle graphics.

Vehicle wraps require the installer to actually wrap vinyl around items on the car like door jams, handles, trunks, hoods, etc. that takes extra time and care to install. Sometimes during a vehicle wrap actual parts might need to be removed and then reattached to properly install the vehicle wrap to create the overall semblance of the graphics.

truck tailgate graphicsVEHICLE GRAPHICS:

Vehicle graphics typically consist of digitally printed decals and/or graphics coupled with vinyl lettering to make what can be termed a partial vehicle wrap. Some vehicle graphics also incorporate see-through window graphics to further brand the vehicle with consistent coverage. Car graphics, truck/van graphics and boat graphics are a more economical way to make your vehicle look like it has been wrapped without actually wrapping the whole vehicle.

Vehicle graphics are applied to your vehicle in sections or pieces that work with the natural color of your vehicle, which creates a fully-wrapped look. And since vehicle graphics don't use wallpaper like sheets, it is easier to install, which keeps installation costs down. Vehicle graphics can even be installed easily by the do-it-yourself enthusiasts with just a few simple tools.

Both forms of mobile advertising will definitely help brand a single vehicle, a couple vehicles or a fleet of vehicles and are a great investment by making your vehicle work for you while out in the field.
