How do you hang a banner? | Banner Hanging

How to properly hang a banner.

All of our printed banners come with brass grommets in each corner and in some cases we suggest grommets every 2 feet across the top and bottom of the banner to properly distribute the weight of the banner for hanging.

INDOOR BANNER INSTALLATION: For an indoor banner that will be put on a wall, we suggest screws, nails or push pins through the grommet holes and into the wall. If the holes in the walls will cause a problem, the banner could be held to the wall for a short time using Velcro or double sided tape.

If the banner is not "pinned" against a wall, it could also be hung from the ceiling, by utilizing string, rope or fishing line. If the banner needs to hang clean, zip ties, string or fishing line can be threaded through the grommets and attached to  a pole (PVC pole at hardware store is inexpensive) or dowel. The pole can then be suspended from the ceiling using string, rope or fishing line. If suspending the banner between posts you will need to thread rope through the grommet holes and tie off to the posts on either side. Weight distribution is key when hanging a banner, so make sure to utilize ALL the grommet holes for proper installation.

OUTDOOR BANNER INSTALLATION: If the banner is to be placed on a wall for outside use, we usually suggest attaching the banner to the wall using nails and screws. If attaching your banner to a fence zip ties work best. For long term outdoor use, we recommend a more durable vinyl banner material with double stitched edges and grommets placed every 2 feet. The installer should firmly attach the banner to the wall using all grommets for proper weight distribution.

OVER-THE-ROAD BANNER INSTALLATION: For a single or double sided, over-the-road banner, call our banner consultants. Installation on an over-the-road banner have specific pre-installation requirements that our consultants can help you with.

WINDY CONDITIONS: If you are hanging your banner where wind will be a factor, you should discuss reinforcing the banner with us, prior to production. You might also want to consider purchasing a Mesh Banner which is printed on perforated vinyl banner material allowing window to flow through the banner better than a traditional vinyl banner.
