When adding any logos, graphics or photographs to a magnetic sign design it is best to use very high resolution artwork over any web images. High resolution images are better because they can usually be sized without compromising the digital image. When low-resolution logos, graphics or photographic images (like most pictures obtained off of websites or the internet) are used for magnetic sign design there is a risk that the image will be blurry or pixelated especially if they need to re-sized to print larger than the submitted size.
High resolution images usually have a dpi of 150 to 300 (dpi = dots per inch). Low resolution images are usually around 72 dpi or below. Now this may sound foreign to some people, but if you are familiar with graphics based programs like Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop, then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. When possible, always submit your artwork with the highest possible dpi. If you aren't sure of the dpi for your magnetic sign design logos, graphics or photo's we'll look over your file free of charge to check for print compatibility.
For those that don't really have any art, except for images they have found online, we might suggest looking into purchasing some nice high-resolution images from online clip-art websites. Most clip-art websites offer high resolution artwork for purchase that can then be used to create a custom magnetic sign design and more.
Adding logos, graphics and photographs to your magnetic sign design greatly increases the overall look and visual appeal. When utilizing text only for a magnetic sign design, it comes off as a little bland, so adding some flavor to your sign with logos, graphics or photographs helps break up the monotony of text only designs. And sometimes a picture says a thousand words which will can automatically tie your magnetic sign to a product, service or business making it immediately effective.
